DCE were appointed by Siemens WLL to complete the Detailed Design (Stage 3) and Pre-opening (Stage 4) Audits for the People Mover System in Education City, Doha, Qatar.
The People Mover System (PMS) is a tram line that will transport people around the area. The PMS system runs in three lines (Line 1, 2 and 3). There are 20 intersections with roads along the tram lines.
The whole system runs from approximately 6:00am to 12:30am and the maximum speed of the trams is 40km/h.
The scope of the audit only covered the PMS system provision. This primarily included the interaction between the PMS and the roads, and the NMU facilities in proximity to the stations. Where infrastructural items and the road layout adjacent did not have a direct impact on the tram line, such items were not reviewed.
