DCE were appointed by Dorsch Qatar to complete the Detailed Design (Stage 3) Audit for the pedestrian bridge on Al Matar Street in Doha, Qatar. The pedestrian bridge is located on Al Matar Street, near Ooredoo Headquarters. It is between C-Ring (286m approx.) and D-Ring (440m approx.) road intersection with Al Matar Street. Commercial establishments like Qatar Airways Tower 1, 2 & 3, Ooredoo Headquarter-2 and Al Mana Tower are within 150m of the proposed pedestrian bridge. These commercial establishments are separated by Al Matar Street.
An at-grade crossing was not chosen at this location due to the high operational speeds on Al Matar Street. The nearest pedestrian facility to cross Al Matar Street is about 250m west of proposed pedestrian bridge location.
The audit only considered the new bridge and interaction with the surrounding roadway. It did not consider the existing road elements and layout.
